Fugitive charged in spree of crime

BLOOMINGTON, Minn.-Prosecutors leveling charges of crimes against the people of North Dakota who were accused in connection with a crime spree including carjacking and Bloomington a few home invasion.

William Roy St. John, 44, faces one felony count of aggravated first-degree robbery and one count of kidnapping crime. The second charge carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.

Bloomington police were sent to the Lucky 13 restaurants at 1800 West United Boulevard to report a carjacking and met with off-duty police officers arrived who said he saw St. John wandering cars and to the officer off-duty he had a gun when he was confronted about his behavior.

Off-duty officer told investigators he retreated and called 911 while John entered the passenger-side white, 2004 Cadillac CTS. The woman who was driving the car then went out and John drives away, witnesses said.
