UK crime journalist arrested in corruption probe

More than a dozen former journalists working for news of the world phone hacking convicted in the scandal which prompted Murdoch to close tabloid in July and forced several senior Murdoch Lieutenant to resign. There are also about half a dozen arrests in connection with corrupt payments made to the police for news tips.

Prime Minister David Cameron set media United Kingdom ethics investigation in the wake of the scandal.

Morgan, a former tabloid editor-turned-celebrity interviewer, replacing Larry King on CNN. He also edited the news of the world between 1994 and 1995 before moving to the Daily Mirror. He can expect to be quizzed allegations that he condoned the phone hacking when working in the mirror and that he personally listen to the message illegally tapped.
